People hear about Swedish Massages but don’t give them because they think you have to have some sort of degree. If this is what you think, you are wrong.

Giving a Swedish Massages does not take a degree nor any schooling. When you give a Swedish Massages you are basically putting pressure on the muscles and using it against the deeper bones and muscles.

When you rub, make sure you are always going in the same direction of the blood flowing back to the heart. This massage was done by the Swedish doctor Per Henrik Ling in the 1700′s.

Helps with toxins

This type of massage can help with toxins because it releases them and causes the oxygen flow to increase. The best part is that it helps with circulation by increasing it, but it does not interfere with the heart flow.

There are lots of Swedish Massages techniques that you can learn. I am only going to name a couple but you should think about studying and learning more.

Most famous techniques used

The most famous techniques used during a Swedish Massages are: vibration, tapping, percussion, kneading, long strokes, effleurage, friction and shaking motions. These techniques are usually done in a certain sequence.

Most people usually start with doing the Effleurage. All you do is glide your fingertips or thumbs down the back with gentle gliding strokes.

The next step that people do after effleurage, is the petrissage. This is when you knead the muscles. You can do this by using your thumbs, fingers or hands.

Next you apply some friction. Doing friction sounds a bit tricky but it’s not. Just apply some pressure using circular movement with the palms of your hands. You can also use your fingers or your thumbs.

Vibration is followed right after friction. You can move your hands in such a way that you are shaking them and causing their back to vibrate.

When you have finished with vibration, percussion is next. All you do is gently tap the back or do brisk hacking.

After all of these steps are finished, make sure the person stretches and bends.

With these steps, you can now do your first Swedish Massages.

Note: You might have to repeat these steps for a few minutes until all of the knots are gone and the person is at ease.

If you have a chair, you can give a person the best chair massage that they’ve ever had before. Not only will giving a massage relax them, but it can help you with getting better at giving a massage.

A lot of the techniques that you use for regular back massages, you can use for the chair. Remember that when you are giving a person a chair massage, it might be a bit more difficult using lotion or oils, so you might want to skip that part and wait until the person is laying on their back.

I am going to go over a couple of quick techniques that will help you give a chair massage.

Squeeze technique

When someone is sitting in a chair, you can do a squeeze technique. This is very popular with chair massage. It’s fast and very simple. So simple, that I saw a 13 year old doing this same technique.

All you do is squeeze the muscles that are around the really large muscle groups. Make sure that the structures with these groups aren’t underlying with any attachments. You must find the muscles edge and focus on it. The main reason why people do chair massage is to focus and help relax the muscles.

Remember when you squeeze, make sure you don’t pinch the person.

Kneading technique

Just like when you give regular back massages, you can do a kneading technique that is done the same way as when a person is laying on their back.

You make movements in a circular motion. This can be done with your thumbs or with your elbows. Using your elbows is a better choice. If you use your thumbs the whole time to relieve the knots and stress, you may end up putting too much pressure on them, causing unnecessary pain.

Something that is not very popular with chair massage is gliding. You should try and learn how to do this technique while they are on the chair because you want to have a variety of techniques later on.

You can do movements that are very similar to the Swedish technique called friction. This is done almost the same way as the Swedish massage, except in a chair.

When you are giving a chair massage, remember that their ears are closer too you. Don’t scream or make sudden loud noises or chew gum. Keeping the atmosphere nice and calm while giving them a chair massage, will make them feel so much better when you are finished.

Stress relief massage does more then relax the muscles, it also connects the body, mind and spirit. Through massage you can help reduce, if not eliminate harmful affects on your body.

Who of us wouldn’t like a nice relaxing massage to relieve stress? Lets face it, stress is a normal part of our everyday lives. But this does not mean we need to suffer endlessly.

Stress relief massage is one of the oldest medical treatments used for pain reduction and healing. It has been known as a very beneficial treatment of stress and stress relief management. It is also effective for a wide range of injuries and ailments.

Many cultures use massage therapy as part of their health care for stress relief and reducing pain. Persians, Egyptians and Hindus used massage for healing many different ailments.

Stress relief massage has several benefits such as:

* Improves circulation
* Helps eliminate body toxins
* Relaxes sore/injured muscles
* Reduces cramping/muscle spasms
* Increases flexibility in the joints
* Releases natural painkilling endorphins
* Increases range of motion
* Decreases back pain discomfort
* Helps relieve migraines
* Stimulates the body’s immune system
* Lowers blood pressure
* Helps insomnia

Aromatherapy is often used in conjunction with stress relief massage. This gives you the benefit of total relaxation and healing. In Aromatherapy, essential oils are use to soften as well as nourish and rejuvenate the skin.

Simply put, stress on the body can be detrimental. Stressed muscles reduce circulation causing both oxygen and nutrients to become blocked. Stress relief massage is a great way to increase circulation, loosen muscles and bring oxygen and nutrients back to the effected area. It also helps release body toxins. Drinking lots of water after each session will help flush the toxins from your system.

Although massage is a wonderful way to relieve stress and painful muscles, you must always avoid massaging areas that have rashes, cuts, skin infection, sores, varicose veins or burns.

Everyone needs to find a safe, effective way to relieve pain and stress.
